Teachers should be whatever they need to be to win the strike. If you just want to be inflexible in the face of an enemy that is hell bent on reducing the working class to nothing then everyone might as well pack it up and clamp the chains back on themselves.

Your proposal was just for parents to give that money away and still have to pay for childcare out of their own shallow pockets.

That's why I was saying we should use striking teachers to staff temporary daycares. Make that money go further than it would on the free market and help to bolster the strength of the union as they struggle to hold off the government's anti-social offensive.

Any future policy on Afghanistan should focus on supporting improving human rights conditions but it needs to also come with a focus on making reparations to a people whose right to self determination we have spent the better part of five decades violating.
