Herbalist. Reclaiming daily rhythms and connections. Building community. Homesteading earth defender. Walker of woods and hedge.
I am a blue dot in a very red county, in western NC. For a while I thought I was one of a handful. I am not. As I work on connecting and building community I have discovered many more. This last election we were almost 30% of the county votes! We are making our voices heard. #BlueDotStrong

We reside in a food desert, The nearest grocery store is 30 min. through the mountains. The aftermath of Helene has made this drive worse. I'm working with community leaders to establish a food hub, with a community garden & food pantry. This is how we fight.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
“Author Rivera Sun creates mythic characters from everyday people. She infuses the story of our times with practical solutions and visionary perspectives, drawing the reader into a world both terrifying and inspiring… a world that can be our own!”

I highly recommend everyone gets to know thd local farmers in your area. Who has fresh eggs, veggies, meat for sale ? Can you barter with them? Exchange work? Did you know a lot of the farmers who are at your local farmers markets, sell direct, year around. Connect locally! Build community
