When it walks over the hill too, you can see the forelimbs moving in a manner more similar to a bear than a pantherine, which really helps show how uniquely robust they are.

Yeah, our understanding of historic herd size and structure in white rhinos (a pretty good analog), is quite limited, but they do seem to have reached at least decent sizes. The more solitary black rhino is more widespread, that’s a likely contributing stereotype for rhinos as a whole.

Really glad we’re not just seeing the white coat in the first screenshot. Homotherium was a wide-ranging and generalist genus.

The goal is to increase genetic diversity in the ferret population, so it could’ve gotten flagged for using a phrase like that.

Don’t really think you can describe the ferret stuff as de-extinction. The black-footed ferret was “saved” from extinction from just being found again in the wild, which happened again earlier this year.
