The jewelled gecko on Banks Peninsula display colour dimorphisim. While the females are the typical green pattern, males actually tend to be brown 🌏 #newzealand #gecko #lizards #ecology #conservation

I was fortunate enough to assist with the monitoring of Duvaucel's #geckos on an offshore island. I won't specify the location as we are weary of poachers but this was in #nz. This marked the 10th and final year of monitoring, which indicated that the translocation of this population was a success 🌏

This forest gecko was not stoked about moving homes. Check out the yellow/orange mouth. Forest geckos are arboreal and are usually found on the tree trunk/branches rather than the foliage. Great to be able to safely relocate it. 🌏 #gecko #nature #conservation #newzealand

My MSc focused on the behaviour and acoustics of bottlenose dolphins at Great Barrier Island, New Zealand. It was a fantastic opportunity, especially considering all but one of the groups there had calves!
It's considered that this area may be a nursery for the population.

This copper skink with suspected leucism was a cool find amongst the hundreds I have worked with.
