The financial aspect of this doesn’t make sense unless they are already quite rich; there are laws preventing refugees from working here in the first 12 months- who is sponsoring them? Rand is very low to the dollar- housing here is hard to find and expensive. It seems like theater.

Watched a Roman history show. It took 14 years to get rid of Nero, and then the next ruler filled his palace with debris and built a people’s market over it. But much of the 14 years was awful.In the end Nero fled with his remaining faithful guard, who then, at Nero’s bidding, unalived him.

Also, please someone somewhere mention birth defect dangers of high dose Vitamin A when taken in pregnancy! We will begin to see those showing up on ultrasounds or a birth before too long I predict

I agree we need a more massive movement- and the US is a really big land mass; it’s expensive for people struggling to get by to fly/ drive/ pay for lodging to get to DC, etc- resistance is also holding empty chair town halls and meeting as growing groups at unadvertised locations

And in the 1940s people had large families, it was impossible to separate a child from its siblings etc, a long variable incubation, less understanding of the mechanisms of spread-danger without high rates vaccination (vax wasn’t avail 1940s - my mothers peds texbook 1945)

Exactly. This 1945 text book basically says isolation of exposed children before illness impossible because of how easily it spreads and you can’t control it ( also death from measles and encephalitis is not “ in frequent”)
