@democrats.senate.gov you let us down. You betrayed your constituents. We won't forget the cowardice of the eight Senators who voted to raise healthcare costs for Americans and the leader who wasn't strong enough to stop them.

This REALLY upsets me. They are messing with my life and the lives of people I love. One dangerous byproduct of Trump's election is putting completely incompetent people in charge of public health, and firing scientists who knew what they were doing. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/17/h...

If you let the executive deport people to a foreign gulag just by pronouncing the word “terrorism,” then expect to be called a “terrorist” soon yourself.

This is glorious. When the DEI prohibition cancelled the opportunity these teens had to play with the US Marine Band, retired musicians stepped in and recorded this amazing concert with the teens. 60 Minutes shared it - now, let's make it viral.

On spending, oversight and other issues, Republican lawmakers have willingly ceded power traditionally reserved for Congress to the Trump White House.

I just came back from watching the Brazilian movie #ImStillHere. Excellent. But you know what's horrifying? To know that I grew up during that time, and while people were being murdered by the military regime, life felt - normal. Beware normalizing authoritarianism. It happens faster than you think.

Thread: What does it feel like to live in a dictatorship? I grew up in one, so here are some thoughts (a).

When a wannabe dictator does exactly what you want, it doesn't feel like a dictatorship. It feels like you have a savior leader. What you must understand is: if you agree your person can do what anything they want, tomorrow someone else will do that which you would give your life to prevent.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

As I prepare for a webinar I am running on Toxic Leadership tomorrow, I wonder - How many young people will take their leadership cues from the current administration? Young leaders - please don't. What you see is not true leadership. One needs more than hunger for power to be a leader.

Do you remember the Bush-Gore race? My neighbor said she liked Bush because "he's like us." When did we stop thinking a leader need not be "one of us" but better - smarter, calmer under pressure, someone we can admire? At what point did the character and gravitas of the President become unimportant?

As I read about Graham's spineless response to Trump's actions I remember John McCain. I didn't vote for Mr. McCain, but I would have still deeply respected him as a President. I wonder what he would be saying if he were alive.

@nytimes.com: "The Republican-led Congress has so far abdicated its role as a coequal branch of government, from allowing its laws and spending directives to be systematically cast aside to fearfully assenting to the president stocking his cabinet with erratic, unqualified loyalists." I agree.

Yesterday, I was with a friend and thought of what could happen if I had a fender-bender. I have an accent, and started panicking that someone might question my citizenship. I quickly downloaded a copy of my American Passport to my phone. That's what is happening all over America now. Fear.
