An excellent question and one I don't have an answer for. McSweeneys decision making and motives have both been extremely hard to fathom of late.

Sadly Starmers mob have no interest in fixing this because they want to get paid by the various global far right factions.
With their huge majority they could easily pass a handful of new laws that would take democracy off the chopping block.
