The rational part of me expects that nothing released tomorrow could possibly have a meaningful impact on The Big Bad Evil Guy, but boy howdy is he acting like he disagrees.

They were putting into words feelings I had tucked away so deep down in my mind that I no longer realized I was still feeling them. My entire life got recontextualized that week. I came out to my friends a few weeks later. I told my doctor three months later and started HRT a few months after that.

I don’t know why, but YouTube started recommending me “how to know if you’re trans” videos *before* I realized anything myself, and in the week where everything clicked I quite literally did nothing but eat, sleep, watch dozens of those videos.

I then proceeded to never allow myself to think too hard about my gender for the next two years because I was still Catholic so if I was trans that would be Bad. During the first week of my first summer break as a teacher, everything suddenly clicked into place.

I was sitting with a bunch of friends at a big table in the dorm cafeteria during college. There was one other queer person at the table, another asexual trans woman. We spent a while talking about our experiences and I related to every single thing she said while the cis people sat bewildered.

I initially interpreted this to be referring to the Pacific Theater of WWII or the Korean War. I guess nothing ever changes that much.
