The change of the seasons is so bittersweet when you garden. I am equally grateful for all the abundance this year – but also sad to witness the end of the growing season approaching. However, the freezers and cellar are full and we are ready for winter.

I did a little baking today. Blueberry cupcakes with blueberry buttercream frosting with blueberry compote on top. They are divine! I delivered 2 plates to people I love. #baking

Today I decided I wasn’t going to stay sad. I got up at a decent hour, took a long hot shower, got dressed, and set off on tasks I had been putting off- laundry, vacuuming, recycling, dusting my house walls, and clearing spider webs from the basement. Little, normal things. I’m tired now, but happy.

I wanted chili… but something different. This has black coffee, cocoa powder, and red pepper flake, garlic, chili powder, taco seasoning, honey, and cayenne- plus the beef and beans and tomatoes fresh (frozen) from last years garden. It’s rich and smoky with dark chocolate undertones. #cooking 🍽️
