your parents are supposed to set you up with a good starter plot. that's their job. if they didn't do it or couldn't complete the task because they rejected how your garden was taking shape, you have more work to do.. but also, greater opportunity for a garden that truly reflects your values.

there are many ways to approach garden-design and you could probably find a pretty strong connection between how someone would tend their garden and how they tend their relationships. the main commonality is the importance of soil, and that's the part that is *you* in this analogy. ❤️🔥

you have the task of remaining open and preparing your heart for it, which takes work. if the realm of the soul is a garden (and it *is*!) then our big work is to amend the soil and sew the seeds and lovingly tend your plot. that's a ripe analogy (pun intended) and it's hard not to tangent...

there's that saying, "you don't get to pick your family!" but it's nonsense because you absolutely DO get to pick your family, it's not just a lottery. you can intentionally cultivate relationship and build the supportive, reciprocal kinship that allows you to thrive and challenges you to grow.
