"Small government" types were never sincere in their beliefs and that was obvious even in the moment if you looked at what they were doing. Almost no one across the entire political spectrum actually wants a small government, so I think any change is in political tactics not a change in philosophy

I can't think of a more obvious way to start an argument than calling a leftist a liberal.

I also do think it's possible to have an organized opposition without pretending everyone has the same opinions

Every time I contact my liberal Dem representative about the current horrors, I am very much reminded that they do matter

Jesse Ventura is a fascinating political figure. @jonbois.bsky.social did an excellent series on the Reform Party in which Ventura was a major player: youtu.be/Qq9YDwPatGk?...

I was getting heated reading TV Time comments about how the Thanksgiving episode of "Man on the Inside" was a funny episode with great character dynamics even though it was just a "filler" episode. I try not to be like this in most things, but people are definitely watching TV wrong

Good choices! Haven't seen "Forever", so I'm choosing to believe it's the Fred Armisen/Maya Rudolph show from 10 years ago
