Ig what I’m trying to say is that it’s nuanced and that ppl just gotta be careful and kind w/ this sort of thing. Solidarity shouldn’t look like a group downward spiral, and compassion + understanding helps prevent that

Also, going back, I used it, but ‘dysfunctional’ can be a super flawed term. Many assume that everyone is capable of the same level of function and are rigid on what function itself looks like. Whatever healthy + happy function looks like for an individual, THAT’s what we should try to encourage

In the case of psychosis, I wish ppl were more respectful about it. Sensationalizing, glamorizing, or mocking the experiences of ppl w/ psychosis is not the way to do it, nor is trying to debate w/ delusion when delusions just don’t work like that. Don’t make someone’s struggle into a spectacle

It’s really unfortunate bc communities where ppl can openly and safely be mentally ill are very important, but enabling dysfunctional coping mechanisms and destructive behavior rather than trying to mitigate harm can be dangerous
