I find coming up with descriptions of myself tedious. If they don't come through in my posts, then they need to come through in person. I value one on one time. I reserve the right to change this description.

In #Okinawa, coastal fishermen now farm #coral, restoring #reefs like planting trees in a forest. With #ocean temperatures rising, half the world’s coral reefs have already vanished. These farmers are fighting back, one fragment at a time.

Took another step and Instagram is off my phone. Facebook and Messenger is off since a month? But still haven't closed those accounts. I keep up on current events other ways anyway & I'm trying to rebalance and reframe my life these past 2 to 5 years. I do not miss scrolling FB on my phone. At all.

There is a lot to feel helpless about, though Cory Booker reminded us that " The power of the people is greater than the people in power." All that said, I know I have control over growing food and so I shall today is broccoli planting day!

Leopards eating billionaire leopard faces. Leopards eating leopard faces. Innocent bystanding creatures and people caught up in the carnage since the beginning. I guess since it's affecting billionaire leopards now suddenly they care. Never forget it had to go this far.

Weather balloons in several cities, including the one in my state, being cut down to once a day due to staffing and budget cuts. Guess it's back to this book, licking and sticking your finger in the air, sore knees, and head to the basement if the sky looks weird weather assessments.

It got cold it snowed. I pre-germinated some peas and planted them a week ago. Some made it, some didn't. The important thing is, enough. Made it.

"What do we do now?
What Democrats and other pro-democracy Americans must NOT do is retreat into despondency, paralysis, or resignation. We are not fighting for our democracy because of Schumer; we are fighting and will continue fighting for it despite him."
What Now?
Forget Schumer. Fight on.

I am grateful that I know how to grow food, I'm thinking about changing what I grow based on climate change and I'm willing to eat differently, and that I have food preservation skills. We as a species might be ruining biodiversity but I can do a micro version of it at home.

"Remember: Your rest is resistance. Your boundaries are brave. And your choice to stay grounded and connected – that's the foundation of any meaningful change."

Take care of yourself. They mean to overwhelm and zap your energy and hope. People with neither can't resist.

My friend and colleague, Deshala, wrote this awesome book to tell her story and as guide and tool for kids to find their voice and talk about trauma. Do you work with or know kids affected by trauma? Take a look. Deshala is one of those helpers Mr. Rogers was talking about.

I'm keeping this space small for myself until I figure out the privacy pieces but I don't want to spend all day on it. Any tips are welcome! Well I figured out how to limit interactions so any tips from followed users are welcome. Starting small like I said.
