also fear of the unknown was massively reduced for a few generations, homophobia went down, women accessing night spaces became safer and racism reduced too. exposure to different people lit up the town. we had djs coming to clubs to do sets from the cities. its all gone.

i grew up in a small isolated town that had a uni campus for a long time. it got closed down and has had an insane impact. jobs have been lost, bars and night clubs have closed, and the opportunity to meet different types of young people and participate in youth culture offline has disappeared.

And yet we focus on telling women they cant nip to the shop after sun down.. When men are as likely to be attacked by strangers at night, and its just undeniably the men we know, the men who tell us not to go out at night, who are the most likely to attack us!! Whaaa?

Its not my argument. But their argument makes sense.. Coffee is mainly water with a tiny bit of coffee which isn't particularly damaging or polluting. It can be filtered quite easily. It doesn't really make any sense to compare coffee to plutonium.
