Both Erdogan in Turkiye and Orban in Hungary were actually popular for a long time when they took over. Enough time to bring the state, media and judiciary under their control.
It takes time to transform a state into a failed democracy.

Amazing show that really landed their final.

The legal case against image creation AI always seemed stronger then against text base LLM.

Zohran> Cuomo is easy. Would still rank other candidates over both of them.

This approach is fine but not enough. The average midterm voter is above 50.
Need to run different messaging campaign for the younger voters.

The choice is between passing a bad bill or facing tens of millions in attack ads from the crypto lobby. Sucks either way

Right now we are overwhelmingly still on pre-tariff inventory. The average voter is only minorly impacted so far. Once that pre-tarriff inventory is gone the political pressure will rise a lot.

China just like many other countries will find out that lowering the birthrate is much much easier then raising it. I expect the one child policy to be widely considered a mistake in the next decade.

Jamming members has worked for both parties a lot of times. Though normally you have more margin of error then 3 house members.

Ken Martin doesn't want the Democratic Party to be neutral in primaries. He wants DNC officers to stay out of primaries. Those are two very different things.

Now I'm worried we will get flooded with news while you are away.

The government gets a lot of deference in court. The same instruments used against private litigants can be used against the government.
I expect contempt hearings combined with putting administration officals under oath.

Just like Trump rustbelt dems are struggling with manufacturing/union nostalgia. Union members are increasingly in service sectors. Whitmer and her team overestimate the amount of voters there are for a old school union candidate in the 2028 primary

First never trust the WH. Second leave the second you find out about it. Then find the closest reporter and blast Trump.

The primary attack ads write themselves. ''Instead of fighting she just stood there as Trump attacked our democracy''
April 9, 2025 at 8:45 PM
The next dem administration will be less pro-union. There won't be another pension bailout for unions.

No cuts to Medicaid, just getting rid of fraud. A very expansive view of ''fraud''

The study has not looked at 2024 data... While the actual debate is about the shifting coalition in 2024.

Voter-ID has outperformed republicans by a lot on average.

It's always low in these special elections. Lot of poorer voters with less formal education in the city that have bad turnout.
