If the "fate of the republic" is at stake over llm's that didn't even perform useful work until 4 years ago then I am here to tell you that we have much bigger issues

which we do...

if you're joking, then carry on lol
November 11, 2025 at 12:11 AM
is it not in "the theory" somewhere that allowing an abuser to abuse you every day generally makes things worse for the abused, not better?

how much bigger should we allow our asshole to be reamed, like are we just at a fisting only stage and are forced to like it now?
November 10, 2025 at 1:05 PM
It's a shit situation and this is easy to say when not directly affected...

but yeah, let's keep teaching the party that is ok with literally overturning an election that if they just dig their heels in long enough that the opposition will just give up

you can only kick the can so many times...

November 9, 2025 at 9:53 PM
and when the election margins are a couple points or less (bush/gore, etc.) how would you tease apart if the economy or another issue moved the needle just enough?

who knows, not me for sure, but Will needs to take a deep breath sometimes or do some drugs and relax...its shower thought social media
November 6, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Well I'm having a very odd MTG moment in that this is one of the very rare things I agree with.

We spent a huge amount of money on research at the university level and a lot of the drugs are made right down the road, yet we pay out the ass.

Assuming they follow through, so not happening...

as long as we get some more of those MOPs or MOABs or whatever they're called to take out a sewer im happy

but they aren't going to see this through i don't think, just some tomahawks and fun stuff and then onto greenland or whatever, attention span dwindling by the day

I don't know why but the consistent little clowns make me very happy.

I think it's because carl is a big and pretty serious journalist sharing pretty interesting stuff in real time but then 🤡 lol.

And he must be good bc he hasn't been kimmeled.

Spot-on descriptor and just makes me smile - 🤡🤡🤡

I hope you have a nice day star.

Anything is possible in this crazy world but take a deep breath, this is bluesky lol.
November 5, 2025 at 5:34 PM
tacky af to make it political when there is no evidence it was related in any way to ATC - the planes left wing was on fire before it barely got into the air and immediately crashes within seconds

a tragedy

open source.

Where people give their work away for free so that you have things like linux, on which the entire internet runs essentially.

So I'm a bit trigger because the people here on bluesky like to bitch about all tech - while using the tech people made for fucking free.
November 4, 2025 at 9:38 PM
But us "techies" have helped lead the US economy for the past decade.

So at least we pulled our weight as the older generations oursourced all of our manufactuering and things that made us great.

At least we created something. And you all should realize the internet runs on something called

provide users control over their data, create their own communities, make their own feeds/algorithms.

They really don't care unfortunately as you can see with bluesky.

So yeah, a lot of engineers end up in shit companies that are monopolies and are unhappy for the same reasons everyone is.
November 4, 2025 at 9:38 PM
I agree that starting the next dry cleaning delivery service or dog walking app doesn't exactly qualify for contributing to the greater good.

But as one of these techies (on 1000mg caf!), we build the platforms we use to communicate.

And when we try to do good like decentralizing things to

Great article, thank you for sharing.

I am a member of a few automotive forums still and it's so sad to see the difference in terms of quality of interactions, etc.

Turns out putting a tiny bit of friction in certain spots is beneficial to exclude every Jim Bob with a low-effort troll post.
November 4, 2025 at 3:55 PM
It's already everywhere lol. Chatgpt was the fastest growing app of all time (original app, not counting threads, etc. as they had a massive head start with fb users).

The fusion analogy would have worked really well though 10 years ago I agree.

Have a good night liz.

It's mostly a joke.

Honestly most of the shit here is

People who couldn't even tell you the most rudimentary things about computers suddenly are experts in all things tech.

And they come at you with every insult while having all the protected group stuff in their bios (fine). It's just funny.
November 3, 2025 at 11:08 PM
lol, that's it...

the best reply you have is one that could be generated by the simplest of models

so why have humans then?

convince me, shame me, anger me!
