I haven’t shared any snippets in a while, so thought I’d post this emotional one! Pray For Him is a horror novel, but it’s also a romance with introspective characters.

There are some trans characters (on page or implied) in some—Pray For Him has trans side characters, The Cozy Cosmic/What the Sea Provides, plus my stories in Carpe Noctem, There’s a Haint in That There Holler, and Dead Cowpokes Don’t Wrangle, all have some gender feels or implied trans characters!

If you’re participating in the #TransRightsReadathon, my books qualify! I’m a trans and disabled author, and indie/self pubbed, so can help you meet some of the bonus prompts. This is a quick post showing some recs of my works and anthologies I’m in!

It’s the “goodbye, KU!” sale! Pray For Him isn’t leaving KU until March 29, but this was the latest I could schedule a sale… just to have to manually reduce the price in other jurisdictions anyway!

It’s a little more complicated than just saying it’s a standalone (although it certainly is)—something I hope to have some fun with!
While the story about Isaias and Hector will be resolved within the pages of PRAY FOR HIM, the book contains threads of other people’s stories, stories that could be told in a larger world. Some characters and locations will appear again, and there are hints of worldbuilding for a larger universe. So the book itself is stand alone in that you won’t need to read anything else to complete the main story, but if you like the book there will be more to come in the same world!

As always, happy to answer questions! I will probably go into this in more detail in my March newsletter, along with other news and publishing plans
While Pray For Him did well in KU (I see the appeal! it’s great for a lot of authors!), my increasing frustration with AMZ as both an author and a reader (and particularly as a Canadian author and reader, IYKYK), has made me feel like it’s time to go wide. Neither Pray For Him nor “ATMMLW” will be leaving AMZ. They will still be available there after they leave the program, and anyone who has taken them out in their KU libraries should still be able to read them until they return them. But this means I will be able to go wide like I originally wanted to, including... Both books and stories will be available in many more bookstores and will be able to be requested by libraries. This should also include: Kobo Apple Books Barnes and Noble Hoopla itch.io! With itch.io, I will be able to have more control over promotions and pricing. If you want to learn more about the wonders of itch.io for books, check out the page of author H.S. Wolfe and author Rien Gray’s Medium article about itch.io As always, I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments. I’ll probably talk about this decision in more detail in my March newsletter, as well, along with other announcements and some publishing plans. TL;DR of this post: I won’t have anything on KU for the time being but this will hopefully provide more options to access the books elsewhere!

An announcement: Pray For Him and “And The Mountains Melt Like Wax” are leaving KU and going wide. I put together some info on why I made this decision, what this means for readers, and one final sale on AMZ! (1/2)

Both my books currently on Kindle Unlimited will be leaving the platform and going wide: “And The Mountains Melt Like Wax” is leaving March 3 Pray For Him is leaving March 29 Pray For Him will be on sale before it leaves (see next slide)! To allow people to grab Pray For Him at a discounted rate in place of KU before it leaves, it will be on sale for $0.99 for 72h from March 13 to 15... this is the latest I could schedule the promotion, as AMZ requires you to remain in KU for at least two weeks after a sale as another way of encouraging exclusivity. So why am I leaving, and what does this mean for readers? Well... To be honest, I was reluctant to be on KU in the first place. Publishing my books as widely as possible is in line with my values as an author, allowing for libraries, smaller bookstores, and readers not based in the U.S. to have easier access (hi, I’m Canadian!) I ended up choosing to try out KU for my debut novel because I was a relatively unknown author and it’s a long book. KU allows subscribers to try it with low-risk if they don’t like it, but it also allowed easier access to sales and promotional events. However...
