- Ilyusha as affectionate diminutive form, mostly for family (mother, grandmother etc.)
- Ilyukha for russian speaking friends, more common for males
but it's short enough to use on its own so most would just use it as it is

my mother's name is Svetlana so here's two interesting facts:
- the name was created by poet Zhukovsky in early 19th century for his same name ballad
- it's too long for common use so unless a person specifically asks, others would just use short form Sveta. Svetik is option if you want to tease

what I found interesting is that when authors trying to imitate Ilya's english, they usually drop pronoun "it" in sentences like "it's fine" which is funny bc russian speakers don't do that. It would be way more realistic for him to lose "is" bc we don't use it in our similar grammar construction
