After reading through the comments on this post, I feel that many on both sides of the divide are missing the main point. Kara is not making a judgment on whether Trump should be likened to...

This speech by French Senator Claude Malhuret captures best the geopolitical and economic crisis caused by Trump's infatuation with authoritarian leaders and his greed for unbridled power and material wealth, as well as the critical moment facing Europe and, by extension, Canada.

Why Energy is Canada’s Trump Card in the Trade War - Macleans.ca
No matter what the president says, the U.S. is hugely dependent on our oil, electricity and other energy exports. This is how we win.

Here's a follow-up to yesterday's post featuring John Turner. In this clip, he discusses one major reason he opposed NAFTA. Make sure to watch until the end for a prediction he made that has now become a key motivating factor behind Trump's interest in annexing Canada.

Trump mantra — "We don't need their energy, we don't need their lumber, we don't need anything that they give. [...] We have more than they do. We don't need anything."

With everything happening in geopolitics and the direction the world appears to be heading, I feel a strong urge to share some observations and cut through the noise that often obscures real issues. I hope to offer different perspectives and spark meaningful questions and discussions.
