it's one of the very, very, very few new shounens that actually deserve the hype

what i'm trying to say is this shounen treats girls as humans, not as tokens, trophies or idols on a pedestal
which, as a long-time shounen enjoyer, i am extremely happy about and hope it will set the standard for more shounens to come

and what's even better is that they're not the only ones who get this treatment
most of the characters are being portrayed as a more or less "fleshed out" human (or non-human) beings with their own motives and morals, regardless of sex

even more than that, Momo is usually the one being the braincell and the "hero", but she isn't a Mary Sue and Okarun is always there to pull her out of tight spots when she can't handle it alone
this anime treats its characters realistically, even with all the absurdity

Momo isn't there just to be a pretty damsel in distress
Okarun isn't there just to be an unkillable superhero
they need each other, and because of that they develop feelings for each other. and they're awkward about it, just like teenagers are supposed to be
it's very refreshing and adorable to see

i am an adult, and have been for over a decade. but, what would happen if i wasn't? knowing myself, i would probably secretly install it and ruin my phone with it, but even if the kid is properly watched and educated - what can they do? you can't even report this shit.
