It is curated hatred, which is cheap and easy and very effective. Messages get tested all of the time to see which ones hit, especially with groups who feel false marginalization (i.e. young white men). Keeps reinforcing a false message that ends up being their "facts."

You might be talking about an ex, a co-worker, the guy at the grocery store who touched every avocado and gives a dissertation on each one's state of ripeness and how long they have before they are "guacamole ready," but I somehow know who I believe you're talking about. And I agree.

I've been saying for a while the goal of theirs right now is to incite violence and declare martial law. That declaration gives him a lot of unchecked power. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Can relate. Also happens to me in movies - I wait for a line and then...POOF! Have to rewind. Then I give up and decide I learn a new hobby (frantically shopping online). Spoiler alert: never learn the new hobby.
