Chess board, just finished. Figured maple and walnut, 2" squares, 1" thick, plus 1" base on two sides to leave clearance for picking it up more easily. Extremely durable, satin hard wax/oil finish. Will have it in the studio for December's Art Walk.

It was quite pleasant there in August. Before the 2-row barley was harvested.
