I was in ROTC in high school, and I agree with you. I saw a vet say “once you learn to march, it’s ingrained in you, and you have to work to get it this wrong”.

I am not a vet, and I know how to march, from my experience in HIGH SCHOOL.

There are a few theories out there by members of the military and by veterans that to walk with that lack of precision while in uniform is, actually, a form of silent protest.

I did read them. I read them when I was 13.

They upset me because I was a particularly sensitive child, but I’m glad I read them because I still have the messages within them inside me.

And I wish everyone had had to read these books, instead of just the “advanced” kids. Everyone.
