It should have been an outright win.

That’s like settling with the sacklers but for real estate instead of drugs.

By the way, homelessness is a huge driver of drug addiction.

If these huge companies aren’t ever actually held responsible this shit keeps happening.

Also, when a court encounters a situation for which there is no law then there should be a review process rather than a haphazard ruling. A legislative review should be triggered.

Laws should be generally less convoluted and they should undergo a test period. Also they should come with explanation of their intended use. You don’t teach math and science history without a textbook explaining the contest and concepts.

However, many laws are indeed traps because the general public have very little knowledge of the law. There are so many counterintuitive, illogical, and even immoral laws that seem almost designed to catch people slipping, they know not where. I think this needs to change.
