Hello! I'm a Canadian fox that paints miniatures, resin kits, gunpla, and the occasional scale model kit! I also dabble with mixed media art. He/him.
Nope, I was collecting them ten years ago as they were fairly inexpensive back then. Think I only managed 16-18 of the Wolfdale core CPUs though.

Parts that were upgraded wind up being used for benching. It's much more affordable that way. Won't be any dry ice in this future though.

I mainly bench LGA 775, and I have "a few" sticks of DDR2 and DDR3... And I've got three trays of CPU's I haven't benched yet, so I could probably get a few submissions sorted out.

No need to afford such if I've had it for ages ^_^

Mine won't even give me info, because I have all of the "personalization" stuff turned off (because the constant random and irrelevant pop-ups were incredibly annoying)

I've had similar experiences with Tidal, once it caught on to what types of music I listen to. Spotify tended to bounce between either having extremely strict guardrails or completely random recommendations in their Discovery Queue, to the point I stopped using it.

I was going to recommend an Ikea Tertial lamp with Philips UltraDefinition bulbs, but I saw in another comment you'd prefer a base lamp over a clamp one. My usual go-to inexpensive offering unfortunately doesn't apply, but I will still recommend the bulb if it's available.

But I'm the type of person who tends to actively listen to music, even if I wind up putting on a mixtape or a set someone's done... So I'm probably not the target market.

I'm also someone who will randomly spend two hours digging through Beatport (or on Tidal) to find new music to listen to.

Even event dj's (like the ones you hire for school dances, weddings, etc) don't do much in the way of talking (on the microphone), unless it's needed, and it's usually quite brief.

If they were aiming for early 2000's radio dj, it's at least sort of close, but still talks far too much for my taste.

If one feature is "radio" and the other is "dj", I expect the dj to be like the musical experience djs - very little talking, and well mixed and curated music. It's supposed to be about the journey and enjoyment of music, not the thing talking far too often and breaking said enjoyment.

to your favourite album by them, then I'll talk for another thirty seconds, and we'll just go on to another, completely different genre of music." Out of the brief amount of time I used it (less than half an hour), almost a third of it's airtime was it talking. That's effectively talkshow radio.

Glad to hear some have found use in it. For me, I found it to be absolutely useless, because it was so in love with the sound of it's voice, and would even do annoying things like "oh, you love this artist? Great, here's thirty seconds of talking, then I'll play the 30 second intro track
December 3, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Wait, people actually make use of that Spotify "dj" "feature", where it talks more than radio, literally has access to what you like and prefer, yet can't even create a mix that's actually enjoyable, has flow, and keeps to a theme, like one would expect an actual mix to have?

Tidal provides a wrapped, but it isn't as nice as Spotify's. Flipside, it doesn't take ten minutes to go through...

And that's before we comment on the $200 you have to drop every three years just to play Warhammer 40k or Age of Sigmar (new rulebook and codex)
December 3, 2025 at 5:56 AM
What annoys me the most though is there's always a price increase within days of them going "new quarterly record profits, best numbers yet!"

The other games I play aren't exactly cheap either, but at least $200 CAD gets you a noticeable amount of things.

I grew up with Warhammer 40k and Fantasy Battles (now Age of Sigmar, oh wait, no, they tripled the cost and called it The Old World, if we're being pedantic), and I can barely rationalize the cost of adding a few things I wanted for my shelf armies (I no longer play, but still paint).
