The problem is the vast majority of other countries are not any more willing to accept new immigrants than the US. You need to be young, healthy, fluent in the language and have an in demand skill. Or a lot of money to buy a visa. Sadly those who will be hurt most won't be any of those.

I would only dare to pet and pick up one of those. Those of us cat staff are owned by little lions.

Agreed. 1000%. That's the difference between loving your country, loving its laws and respecting them and blind worship. Ideally, reputation should save no one from legal conviction for their crimes. Not Bill Clinton, not anyone. Give everyone their Fair due process. And convict once proven.

And unlike the Republicans, those of us who vote Democrat absolutely want to see any Democrats who are involved in these files properly arrested, charged and their political lives ruined. If Bill Clinton was involved, lock him up.

I remember reading about the trail of tears in history class. Just the bland descriptions it gave were quite horrible. And yet, this current so-called administration wants to whitewash it out of existence and gaslight everyone by insisting that native Americans agreed to this.

I've also heard that for obvious reasons, fewer and fewer young women who remain plan to ever have children. As in are having permanent birth control methods. Meanwhile, those in power cry in horror about the population implosion. The cognitive dissonance is incredible.

So let's see. California voters followed the proper legal process to change their voting districts. Republicans change the voting districts of their constituents without their consent or knowledge. Which one is legally defensible? I wonder?

It's just like how anyone that crosses Putin ends up falling out of windows mysteriously. Even if they're on the first floor at the time.
November 13, 2025 at 4:09 PM
I first recall that phrase being used after 9/11/2001. This was the time that the Republicans pushed for much greater surveillance of Americans, and undermining of privacy. That was the excuse given.

Isn't "different standards for thee than for me" basically that guy's entire life? At least it's consistent.

It's a time honored truth that Democrats have forgotten. When writing something, you always need to know your audience. And write with the audience in mind. To win elections, progressives can't just appeal to themselves. Their great ideas need to be expressed so others can understand them.

I think the problem is that many of the most popular names for the stadium, if they were to name it after him, would be rather obscene. I don't think his name would be on the list anywhere.

As a man, who voted for Hillary and Kamala, what profoundly saddens me is how extreme the lengths most Americans went to in order to avoid voting in a qualified female president.
November 8, 2025 at 5:46 PM
It was wonderful having a 4-year presidency where you didn't have to turn on the news everyday and see something else that the president did to embarrass the country or worse. A time when things were simply quiet in that sense. Where the President just did his job without drama.
November 8, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Even then, it was a stark reminder that news companies are for-profit companies. They don't care about truth, holding the rich and powerful accountable, what's best for the country, or really anything except their quarterly profits.

This sounds like they're just looking for any possible distraction. Right now, millions of Americans can't get food, while the rest of us are seeing less money in our wallets as costs rise out of control. These are realities that cannot be denied. Because they are immediate and personal.
November 8, 2025 at 5:37 PM
I recall the president of one of the major three us TV networks flat out saying that while Trump may be bad for the country, he's great for their ratings.

If the worst thing that man did was eat pizza with a fork, millions of people would be shouting Hallelujah.

Clearly stupidity is a very hot global commodity this year.

But they don't have any luggage, or a giant Air Shield protecting the planet, so the password wouldn't be appropriate. For those who are confused, those are Spaceballs references.

Humans are very prone to anthropomorphizing anything. Such as stuffed animals, or video game characters. How much more dangerous is a chatbot? I'd argue very. Because users assume it has feelings and understanding when it's just putting statistically more likely words after each other.

Golden for one man in particular. That is literally the only person he cares about. Even his supporters or billionaire bankers are incidental at most. And discarded at a moment's notice.
November 7, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Sounds like a solid goal. A return to a government run by the rule of law, which places the well being of the country as a united whole over scoring political points and hiding really shady actions at literally any cost.
November 7, 2025 at 4:17 PM
Too bad he doesn't have a mustache he could twirl. This is literally cartoon cliche villain behavior. The money is already allocated precisely for this situation. He's literally fighting to let people starve.
November 7, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Whatever rules he makes up inside his head that benefit him of course. The same ones he pretty much runs by.
