((In that brief time in HW when the WoL, Alphinaud, and Raubahn go to the Waking Sands, Aether can be seen hiding with Urianger following the bloody banquet in post-ARR. He is relieved when he sees some of his companions alive and well.

((So, my idea for Aether is that he wouldn't be there when the bloody banquet happens. Instead, he'll be with Urianger since he isn't one to go to banquets. But, he wouldn't be with the WoL and the others until post-HW when they search for Thancred. To that end, his hair would get a smidge longer.
