I’m a queer American parent so things are really awful right now. I’m using this as a place to document things that don’t feel completely awful. But probably also to repost and comment on things that do.
Common sense would be actually doing a cost-benefit analysis, seeing that this is an attempt to solve a problem that doesn’t actually exist while inflicting a real cost that disproportionately affects women, minorities, and financially disadvantaged people, then sending the bill to the shredder.
