Y5 took inspiration from Grayson Perry’s Map of Days to create their own imaginative maps — experimenting with fine detail and varied typography to tell their stories. 🗺️🖊️

Some fantastic news.
Out of 15,000 primary schools, only 12 in England scored a perfect 40/40 in the new Telegraph rankings and Whitchurch Primary is one of them.
We are officially 10th nationally. Well done to our pupils, staff and families.

Year 3 had a fantastic art lesson! They explored shading techniques in their sketchbooks, experimented with HB to 6B pencils, charcoal, and graphite, then wrapped up with some fun drawing activities using 'Art For Kids Hub'. #wpsart #CreativeKids #ArtLesson

Year 5 created stunning, colourful artwork inspired @sallyannefitterartist silver birch trees! They scraped acrylic paint for vibrant backgrounds and explored mark making. The trees were added using the same technique with black & white paint. #wpsart #ArtInspiration #sallyannefitter

Whole school assembly today on ‘screen safety’ and how we can look after ourselves when using laptops, tablets and other devices with screens. We discussed body and screen positions and taking breaks. Nice to see some children changing screen positions in lesson after break 🤩. #wpspshe #wscomputing

Year 2 became architects! They explored how buildings relate to people and place, drew inspiration from real architects; Hundertwasser, Zaha Hadid and Heatherwick Studios, and used 'Design Through Making' to create their own models. #ArtEd #Architecture #AccessArt #wpsart

Year 3 explored storytelling through sculpture! Inspired by Dirty Beasts they marbled paper with 'Brusho', then used it as a Base for their plasticine characters. Sketchbooks helped them turn words into 3D art, just like artists Rosie Hurley & Inbal Leitner. #ArtEd # StoryThroughArt #AccessArt
