The 8th ( and final) season of Outlander airs March 6th 2026.

FYI there are 9 main books ( so far) and plenty of short stories, novels and novellas around other characters in the Outlanderverse.

My husband made 3 seasons and 3.5 books before he gave up ( I’ve read & watched all to date) GL☺️

Sadly not. I’m just overwhelmed that’s all. But thank you for caring x

12.) I've got to see how the (TV) story ends and I'll still read book 10 when DG is done but yeah... I just don't know anymore.
Anyway, this post ended up a lot longer than I intended but at least I've said what I've wanted to say and it's all out in the open now

11.) But there are times I wish I could still fangirl. Even trying to feels like a massive effort and waste of energy now and that's really sad. Once, I was convinced Outlander was my "ride or die" fandom but now it feels like the last ties have been cut. I'll still watch S8 because

10.) And now, after all that... I'm just like... is this it? I mean, sure, I did a lot of fun things during my time in the fandom and those memories will stay with me for life but.. I feel so empty now. So lost. So alone. I get that things have changed and a bunch of folks have all but moved on

9.) I was looking at Sam and waiting for the "OHMYGOD" thing to happen.. but it didn't. Don't get me wrong.. Sam is VERY handsome in person but, yeah... He was so down to Earth and easy to talk to ( minus the butterflies I got when he not only pronounced name right but spelled it correctly as well)
November 11, 2025 at 7:29 AM
8.) And how much he reminded me of my childhood friend, Richard ( My friend is about 6'7, blonde hair, blue eye, built like a viking - His family is Dutch) in that, Rich is the nicest, kindest, give you the shirt off his back, kinda guy, and I remember thinking ... Well, now what?

7.) And treat me like sh*t as a result ( due to being blocked on Twitter the year before) but as it turned out, he was lovely and called me darling and lovely and was a genuinely sweet, kind guy. Thing is, it was during this event I realised just how down to earth he was and how 'normal' he seemed

6.) In 2024, An Australian company that hosted conventions - #TheHub hosted our first ever #Hublander where fans got to meet members of the cast. It was there I got to meet Sam for the very first time. I knew folks on Twitter were giggling at my expense and hoping Sam would "know me from socials"

5.) It didn't last long as shortly thereafter, I deleted Twitter entirely( and to this day I've never gone back) and got on with life, started going to therapy ( I had a lot of personal crap that year so therapy really helped. Two years on, I'm still talking out my *truma babies*)

4.)Without explanation. It was a silly conversation about Whisky in which #SassenachSpirits was tagged. I had no idea I'd been blocked until a few days later and it left me utterly speechless. No one else in the thread was affected and so, I ended up creating a new account to follow him there again

Stopped posting there and took to posting on IG instead.

Having said that, I also found myself wondering whether I am now the odd one out. See, the thing is, things in this fandom haven't been the same for me since around 2023 when my Twitter account was blocked by Sam's SM team

3.) It's even harder to "find your clan" so you can fangirl and have fun because the "Fanmily" is split over so many platforms. There are times I miss how the fandom used to be ( especially on X - formally Twitter) but the whole dynamic shifted after Sam and Cait ( and their respective SM teams)

2.) Any of the footage from that event and it got me thinking.
The Outlander fandom has changed. Especially in the last 5 years. What was once a tight, supportive, welcoming place has, over time, become a toxic cesspit where it's more common to tear someone down than lift them up.

What happened?
November 11, 2025 at 6:27 AM
It was like a "I've met him... now what?" Type feeling. I miss the silliness and carry on of *Dying over photos* of him. ( Because honestly, after meeting him and seeing how normal he was ... I felt like, I'd treat him how I'd treat my guy mates ( And trust me... There is ZERO attraction there)

Then again, maybe it's just me and I'm now the odd one out. I don't really feel like I belong anymore and haven't done for a very long time. I had a great time at #Hublander2024 and meeting Sam was great but... After I met him it was like the excitement died down completely.
