Nice talk with @8doorsdistillery manager @_ryansuth on the @worldofwhiskymannheim yesterday. Not yet their own stuff, but great blends. My favourite was the 13yo Seven Sons. Also the whisky liqueur is interesting.

Ragnarøkkr Valkyrjar von @whic.de, 13yo Peated Highland Malt mit STR-Finish, 49,9 %. Nase: würziger Torf mit etwas roten Beeren, im Mund viel Torf und eine trockene, erdige und nussige Note mit Pfeffer, im Abgang süßer, aber Torf dominiert. Nicht mein Stil, für unter 80 € ok und noch zu haben.

My first @lochleawhisky is the Ploughing Edition Second Crop 46% from ex-Islay casks. Slightly smokey, mainly sweet with honey, malt and apples. Getting more maritime in the aftertaste. Nice one! Sample by whic.de

Bunnahabhain 2012 Small Batch Edition #7 Signatory, 48,2% - Oloroso of course with this color, not peaty. Soft, nutty, berries. Christmas cake (at 30+ outside...), maritime saltiness. Nice one. Sample by whic.de

New Aberfeldy 25 Years, matured in Refill Hogsheads and Butts and more than 12 months in Oloroso. 46 % and no chill-filtration make for a nice, smooth texture and freshness with rather tropic fruits than dark ones. Aftertaste dry and spicy with dried Papaya. Just the price - 460 €...

@stauningwhisky Dirty Bastard Rye 53,4% from Virgin Oak, Mescal, Tequila & Stout Casks. Very spicy, but also fresh and flowery. Like it! Sample by @whic.de

Today's Malternative: Au de vin de raisin from Swell de Spirits, an Armagnac that's not allowed to be called so due to maturation in an ex-Long Pond Rum Cask that contained Calvados Garnier for a month. An explosion of aromas.

Found another sample, not really a #BlindDrams but old. Springbank Private bottling from Tara Whisky Shop in Munich, 9yo 47%. Nice colour.

Smokehead Terminado Tequila Cask Finish, 43%, ein Sample von whic.de. Durchaus viel Torf, aber auch exotische, süße Fruchtnoten und kräftiger Abgang mit Karamell und Feuer. Spannend!
