What a coincidence! My dog is named Islay, too!

My #frozenfrenzy #hockeydram tonight is an unredacted Whiskey Del Bac Ode to Islay. Whiskey Del Bac got its wrists slapped by the Scotch Whisky Association for daring to put “Islay” on a bottle…even as an inspiration.

Sipping a 12-year-old Royal Lochnagar tonight. Got this bottle when I visited the distillery many years ago for the Diageo Malt Whisky Course.

My first dram of the weekend is the Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices single malt. It lives up to its name with a potpourri of spices, including ginger, nutmeg, and chili powder. Very nice!

Just tasted the sequel to Jack Daniel’s “hazmat” Coy Hill release…the Single Barrel Special Release Tanyard Hill Rye whiskey at almost 73% ABV. Dry and astringent on the palate with good baking spices, dark chocolate, and mint.
