I want to support what Arrow is doing so I started a 6.99 a month (what a bargain!) streaming sub. Giallo. Spaghetti westerns. Poli. And lots and lots of my beloved Shaw Bros. All in beautiful prints. Let's go!

I saw this as a kid on a Bay Area station's Creature Feature show. Spending night at my grandmother's house. I have a big soft spot for it. Rewatched my DVD copy last night.

Never read H.P. Lovecraft. Co-worker recommended The Dunwich Horror. I read it and loved it. Loved his style. Loved the world he created. Loved the mood. I will be reading more!

New York is the state that I love the most! I learned today that October is New York State History Month. The Chainbearer is about the New York Anti-Rent movement. It's a trilogy and I've read the first book: Satanstoe. This is the second book in a glorious @sunypress.bsky.social edition!

I'm currently reading So Big by Edna Ferber. It's really good!

I discovered Rivette through Frank Tashlin. I am a Tashlin apologista. Rivette loved Tashlin. I must watch Rivette's films.

I saw Celine and Julie first in the 90s. Watched again last night. Better than ever.

Reading this for the first time. With a group. 50 pages at a time. Talk about it. Take a break. Read next 50 pages. Slow walk through Thomas Pynchon' Gravity's Rainbow.

Sometimes I'll pick up a random pulp paperback and read it just because my soul needs to read pulp (easy page turner). This week I'm reading Rogue Powers by Roger Macbride Allen, which I'm guessing is pretty much forgotten.

Just finished The Confidence Man by Herman Melville. It's astonishing. It perfectly predicts America in 2025. I loved it.

I love physical copies of Cliffs Notes. Reading Kafka now. Because The Metamorphosis has been referenced and copied so much over the last 100 years I believe it has lost it's once great force. But! In The Penal Colony! It hasn't lost any of it's power. It's the Kafka I would recommend in 2025. Wow!

My favorite book. It's not my favorite because I love it. Nobody could love it. It's my favorite because it's so damn difficult. I love the challenge of reading it over and over again and trying to figure it out. It's reading as solving complex math equations. But when it becomes decipherable: ahhhh

I love Letterbxd. But I only follow a hand full of people. I believe this is the first movie I've ever seen on Letterbxd that has been viewed by all the people I follow.

I watched the John Sturges Criterion Laser Disc commentary on the Criterion Channel. It's legendary. As it should be.

Currently reading Trick Baby by Iceberg Slim. My third Slim read, after Pimp: Story of My Life and The Naked Soul of Iceberg Slim. It's excellent. I've seen the movie, but never read the book.

I never really bought a lot of physical media before but these 50 percent off summer sales are too enticing. @severinfilms.bsky.social 24 hour Saturday sale. You got me. I'll never see prints this good unless I buy the blu rays. Clones of Bruce Lee

I was thinking about this movie tonight. I had seen it in NY in the early 90s and there's a good chance it didnt have subtitles (NY was going through a period where they screened foreign films without subtitles for a few reasons). I had an Italian friend and we saw it at the Public Theater. (Cont .)

I watched this fantastically fun Godzilla movie (that I didn't know existed) yesterday. And I skated.

I'm reading the @libraryofamerica.bsky.social edition of James Blish's A Case Of Conscience. I like to search for the different paperback covers when I read a Library of America volume and pretend I'm reading the paperback. All three covers are sci fi bangers. So I thought I'd share them.
