They can't - they were sold off and don't belong to NBC anymore, hence why they had to change their name

They were forced to rename because of the merger and they are no longer belong to NBC Universal family.

This was not their choice.

As for the Ad, choosing Maya Angelo and this speech seems pretty good to me.

They have tried to overturn the ACA over 70 times and in not one of those instances, did they offer an alternative plan to replace it with

Plus, the 30 yr mortgage (versus the original 10-15 yr) did absolutely NOTHING to keep home prices affordable for all. In fact, it made homes increase in price to the point ppl can't afford them.

People could afford prices on a 10 yr Mortgage.

People *cannot* afford prices on a 30 yr Mortgage

Yes and No.

Her plan for only for generational 1st-time home buyers, not everyone.

So you only qualified if your parents/grandparent were not ever able to afford a home.

This is a very small subset of home buyers, so would not affect home prices in total.

Absolutely. In fact, I really believe that the biggest problem with Runaway Capitalism is the normalization of Debt et al.

Companies don't have to sell reasonable affordable things anymore.

They _used _ to before banks started issuing loan/CC/Debt direct to consumers which meant prices went UP

Further, they used the term "The Creator" iirc to make it inclusive for all religions.

"In God We Trust" wasn't added to money until the 1950s

Wasn't one Dec. Of Independence signer a Muslim?

Let not forget we left England to escape a "State Religion".

The simple thing these guys miss is that all tv+media is for profit. As such, they want to appeal to big audiences blacks, jews, women, gays..

Secondly, most people like stories that are good and positive, hence, why we don't have positive stories celebrating slavery, holocausts, gay bashing, etc.

it was a game to make republicans turn down a totally reasonable request, and they took the bait and turned it down.

It looks like their threaten to leave every year, but Taco out bc apparently, NYC is still a great place to become a millionaire.
November 7, 2025 at 11:34 PM
