I love the costumery and revolution.
They're trying to hack the "why won't you fuck me" machine right now.

They'll never get in by any reasonable definition of getting in.

How long until the next 500 year flood (that proposed changes would address in no way)? Climate scientists say way sooner than you think.

Even before Helene, flooding was named as major disaster threat to WNC, a supposed "climate haven." #avlgov
This reflects emerging trend among elites in Asheville, including w/in government, with how they're dismissing impact of Helene.

They're waving it away as a singular event, so no need to use resources for major aid, change anything about development or tourism. Back to normal at all costs. #avlgov

Obviously many locals are still recovering from the disaster; it's going be a hard winter. This sudden loss of supplies at a time when it's still needed is going to leave folks scrambling.

Local mutual aid's about to get even more important #avlnews

He is openly disgusted by anything remotely useful or good for the U S., he doesn't even know how the U.S works and he's out here like some Austin Powers rejected evil extra. This is going to be *so fun*. 🙄
I’m curious how much federal funding he thinks the ACLU receives (it’s none).

Does anyone else feel secondhand embarrassed every time a self wrecking Deplorean drives by?
Am I the only one who has never liked these? ~Dirty secret- I once shamed a man I cared for very much out of his Tesla. We're still friends, too 😃. Even tho he was a PiTA to take camping .

From a certain standpoint you can understand why MAGA leaders have contempt for MAGA voters—these are people who cheered wildly when Trump said "I love the poorly educated"—so I do wish I had a fetish for schadenfreude so I could enjoy all this, but the truth is, I don't like seeing people suffer

Some tenants who could barely afford rent in western North Carolina before Hurricane Helene have fallen behind and are now facing the possibility of eviction.

Aid groups are working to avert the wave of possible evictions that they fear could cause more homelessness as winter sets in.
