BUT WHY

took my mom to get our nails done, which she hasn't done since my wedding. trying to enjoy the small luxuries in between the deluges of horror.

midnight and about 8 hours later. snow in Florida. it's a real nice change of pace to witness a historical event that's a little magical and nice, and not a catastrophe or an atrocity.

snow really does kinda crunch when you walk on it. this is wild.

there's a lot of reason to be jealous of dogs, but as I sit here -a Floridian awaiting a projected 7 inches of snow- I'm even more envious than usual.

NYE used to be a garbo holiday for me, as an introverted homebody. but when my spouse and I got together, it was the one holiday that had no family obligations on either side. so we could spend it together, with simple cheese boards and movies at home. 15 years later and here we are.

unsure how I was supposed to take any of what was said in any way other than hostile?

I know they're shockingly millennial, but I've been making charcuterie for NYE for 15 years now, and I'm proud af of how good they are. it honestly elevates the shit out of an otherwise useless night.
