alsoooo i guess if i get full time (min wage) i need the savings for unexpected shit bc that's paycheque to paycheque territory baybeee. so i cant let the savings get too low... 🥲 not that i will have a choice one way or the other! doing my best!!!

anyway, so i would need more like 40 hours at the min wage here, surprising no one, except 1) it's hard/impossible to find a random ft job 2) it's hard to find a random pt job that has the exact days you need to work around your other job .. .. . . ...... whine whine

everyone kind of has their own ideal industry pickup/long guestimate timelines, mine was that it would have work to apply to within 1-1.5 years - that is stretching on where I am so idk 😂

the reason nepotism is so nefarious but useful is that, frankly, you can say something like this and it's the only way the other person will believe you and give you a chance without doing Performative Resumes and Cover Letters, but it should just be commonplace for everyone imo

Good example: was looking into social media and marketing, a lot of it expects 4 year schooling (!!!!!) or relevant experience (learn on your own time, create a portfolio, etc) or low pay interning. ok but you could just tell me how to do the job and i would nail it i am Internet and Ad Raised

talking about this opinion can trigger a "oh... she's just lazy...." response in people but i am begging the world to realize we dont need to work as hard as we do just to prove something lol. it's efficient not lazy! boomers used to walk into jobs all the time completely untrained

everything you need to know is imparted by the most problematic but slightly loveable senior staff member in the first six months and fifty times more valuable than your schooling. convinced this is universal

My Cynic/Ignorant Perhaps opinion is like over 1/2 of careers don't need these long ass school requirements and we should just be training people (PAID) while working lmfao. they just want us trapped in debt and unable to pivot easily. 1-2 years max plus work training. half a decade is INSANE
August 13, 2025 at 3:15 PM
You can put a lot of work in grinding to get back into animation Faster or you can put a lot of work into a completely different direction but you can't do both. Also, sooo many other careers require like, multiple years of training. Girl I just need six months can we just skip all that wtf
August 13, 2025 at 3:10 PM
The other side of that is like what if animation is low employment for 2-5 years! Then it's a great use of the time! Nobody really knows, esp with whether canadian studios will win bids or if the provinces will lighten up on inter-provincial hiring. I am finding it hard to know what to do.
August 13, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Not offended by the idea of training in something else but what happens if you do all this WORK and LEARNING and PAY MONEY just to be back in animation in a year (all theoretical of course)? Like DEBT for NOTHING????

just use it, who fucking cares?! if you're that worried about sounding robotic perhaps you should work on *tone*

it makes you wonder, what are they listing actual size 32 as?! do they even sell it?!? youd have to go up 4 whole sizes (if it scales) to hit 32", which is one of the smallest sizes for an adult kahrjfkdjsjd
