I started off hating Putin (actually, started off pro Russia many years ago, when I was more of an idiot than I am now). Then a Russia expert I heard said it's not Putin, it's the whole fabric of Russian society. Now I'm with you, feel that any word used to describe my hatred is unfair on the word.

True. I just become profoundly disappointed every time I read that not every single one of them is wiped from the earth. I know, I'm greedy.

Madam,I think you're great, but enough of the words. It's way beyond time for action. Member states need to break EU rules to act. We're at war and Russian Hungary and Russian Slovakia are against the EU. We need to forget consensus before all we have is dictatorship.

Only 12? What a tragedy :(

Absolutely. It's the one area I think the criminal justice system should be absolutely brutal. It's the difference between a poor person stealing from a shop and someone who needs for nothing damaging millions. Life sentences for any corruption whatsoever.

It's the paradox of democratic politics - without getting into power, one can't implement one's principled politics. But principled politics are anathema to getting into power. Boris was just now obvious, as he was a buffon. This logic is why the West can't stand up to Putin.

Sorry, do you think other politicians act differently? Again, I'm not defending Boris, but that's what they do. It's called preparation. When I worked for one (a very "decent" Labour one), many years ago, the MP's assistant explained that the job of an MP was to get re-elected

*that he could have used

There were many other politicians who needed distractions and plenty other distractions that he cooks have used. Factoring those out, he understood the situation and its needs while others were doing nothing. Doesn't mean he's nice or good. Didn't mean I like him. Just what it is.

That's not the "only thing". I'm sure he also saw himself as a modern day Churchill, and to impress his missus. But nothing is one dimensional or zero sum. Nobody in their right mind thinks a politician does something for altruistic or moral reasons, so self-interest kinda zeros out as a variable.

That's why I wrote "I hate to say it", you see.

Good God, he's not mine. I thought, and think, he's awful. And yes he did, asking with every other MP, give Russia everything. Just saying that when everyone else was shrugging, he went there and started the ball rolling. Doesn't mean I like him or think he's decent.

I'm so sorry 🤣 It's just all so weird. We have armies and soldiers. They're formed for this sort of thing, so if not now, when. And if not at all, let's just stop spending money on them and let Russia have its way.

Damn you for getting that joke in before me! 🤣😍
