♥️ These are a few of my favorite things ♥️
I finished a personal project that's been burning in my head for over a year today. It's an item I collect & have wanted to make in the pottery studio after finding this book at a cool used book store. Video in the next post!!

My first ceramic kaleidoscope:

My favorite ring holders so far! Thrown on the pottery wheel, but the real success was in the glaze.

I wanted to see if I could bring my cake decorating skills to the pottery studio & pipe decorations with slip. Definite proof of concept!

Porcelain sculptures for a far-away friend when she was going through a hard time. Meant to remind her that our households share love, even with an ocean in between us... but that I sure wish she was next door.

I left them mostly unglazed because of the lovely snowy softness to porcelain.

Working on wall pockets for air plants in the pottery studio. They're unglazed inside to retain some moisture but with a hole in the bottom so they don't get root rot after soaking.

Also planning to make them as magnets for the fridge. We have a LOT of air plants in this family.

💀 Skull mugs... my first mugs actually, a gift for my husband who collects skulls. Thrown on the pottery wheel, details added when the clay was soft.

It's morbid, but it's really pleasing to hold these with one of your thumbs in an eye socket lol 💀

An apple & peach bowl I made in the pottery studio, to play with my underglaze pens. I loved how the speckled clay worked on the apple.

I have spent most of my week in a new (to me) pottery studio, and oh my gosh, it is soul-healing, haha.
If you think touching grass is good, go make something out of mud. LOL
