I’m so tired, Robbie
It took me so long to figure this out, because I apparently have a very large neck compared to the rest of my body. I need to special order dress shirts because finding 17.5 on “small” waist and sleeve length is absurdly hard.

Anyway I’m done.

And another

Here’s one I found in five seconds of searching:

I see zero good faith from you, but I’ll bite. Schools tend to be focused on sit down classroom time which has developmentally been shown to not be good for boys.

Adding in practical instruction and more physical activity would do a lot shift schools to being more welcoming to boys.

I think that’s a really hard road to get people to walk in left leaning spaces because they’re used to intersectionality where women are almost universally thought of as the ones getting screwed (which, fair for the most part). In this case the opposite is true so there’s resistance.

Look at the comments on this post. Tons of people doing that.
May 14, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Schools would be a start. According the article we’re commenting on, schools are failing boys. Educators should go back to the drawing board and figure out how they can correct this gap.

I know the answer isn’t “boys should just stop being terrible”. That lets too many people off the hook.

One hundred percent. Why some people on here throw away all the things they say they believe in when it’s a group they don’t like, I will never understand.
May 14, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Indeed. That’s why I always say poor people need to stop being so lazy. That will arm them against being evicted.

The logic here on display is the exact same used by right wingers for generations. Maybe we as a society need to arm them instead of writing them off. Naw let’s just insult them.
May 14, 2025 at 7:06 PM
To me it’s a good example of why morons like Tate have made inroads so quickly. To continue your example, now imagine that boy finding some far-right leaning site where they say “they hate you, but we don’t. Join us.”

People want to be liked and want community. It’s not hard to get from A-to-Z.
May 14, 2025 at 2:47 PM
I think that’s a bit of an…insane over generalization. I also think a lot of “oppressed groups” contain men. Also is crime spiking these days?

If people want to hate men no one can stop them, but don’t be surprised if they start following/voting for charlatans that act like they care.
May 14, 2025 at 12:56 PM
A lot of comments here are despicable. Apparently empathy stops when it’s a young boy, who are responsible for hundreds of years of oppression.

If it was any other demographic this place would be up in arms, and rightfully so.

Why would he put AR glasses on his watch? Seems silly to me.

I mean Tim Allen is an alum…

100 percent. It kind of fits with what I was talking about. To an extent they knew that what they were doing would be highly unpopular with the German public, so they kept it quiet. It was still an open secret, but there were surprisingly some displays of public opposition to it. Not enough but 🤷‍♂️

I should also say the detail I mentioned came from the second half of Descent.

Sure! It’s the two part series Ascent/Descent by Volker Ullrich. Probably the best “concise” biography of Hitler with modern scholarship. I had a hard time stomaching the first book but the second was much more…palatable. Highly recommend.
April 4, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Hitler was smart enough to understand that he only could do things if people allowed him so keeping the majority happy was a good idea.

The best thing about trump and his cronies is that they are flat out stupid. If someone actually intelligent had taken over things would be even worse.

I was reading a book about the Nazis recently (wonder why), and the nazis went out of their way to make sure that certain luxuries and their equivalent to welfare kept working until almost the very end. Hitler remembered people almost revolting in WW1 because everyone had to eat turnips.

I thought the section of Mark Carney’s speech last night where he talked about free markets plus government was outstanding. I’d love for dems to adopt or steal that.
March 10, 2025 at 12:40 PM
I wasn’t a big “Russian mole” guy, but watching this just makes it likely. From a cold realpolitik perspective, siding with the nation that’s been demolished by war and is impoverished over the vastly more wealthy and stable Europe with hundreds of millions of consumers makes literally zero sense.

Have you guys seen the horse on Old Lansing Rd? Because there is now a horse on Old Lansing Rd.

Thank you. It’s been very hard but I’m trying to take it one moment at a time.
