It’s an embarrassment. I live in Asheville. FEMA was boots on the ground. Myself and many neighbors were affected positively by FEMA’s presence. And I’m grateful that it was the previous administration that handled the Helene disaster.
Abolishing FEMA is one of those areas where I don’t know if Trump actually believes it would be better for the states to do 100% of their own disaster relief or if it’s just another area where he’s trying to destroy the country.
