No polish. No filters. Just the raw reality of being a disabled activist in a world that keeps demanding more from people who already have less.

Like I'm missing my chance to help someone else feel seen. Like I'm failing my community.
But the truth is: burnout doesn't ask permission. It just kicks the door in.

I spend months digging into legislation, policies, statistics, and personal experiences so l can explain it all in a few minutes online. And still... it never feels like enough.
Because if rest, I feel like I'm letting
someone down. /3

Every day, unpicking how the world isn't just inaccessible, it's hostile. And I'm tired. Not "I need a nap" tired, soul tired.
Because I don't just talk about this stuffl live it. I research it in-depth. I carry the weight of people like me and the ones I love. /2

7/7 These aren’t isolated issues.
They’re symptoms of a society that sees disabled lives as optional.

We’re told we cost too much. Take up too much space.
But we deserve space. Safety. Support. Dignity.

This is about systems that were never built for us in the first place.

6/7 3% of new homes are accessible.
55,000+ disabled people are waiting for housing they can actually live in.

Meanwhile, we’re trapped in flats we can’t shower in, crawl through kitchens, or get through our own doors.

Not a housing crisis. That’s neglect.

5/7 Only 53% of working-age disabled people are in work.
Pay gaps. No adjustments. Passed over.
If we speak up, we’re “difficult.”
If we stay silent, we burn out.

Disabled workers deserve better than lip service.

4/7 1.5 million SEND pupils.
97% of primary school exclusions?
SEND kids.

They’re underfunded, unsupported, and set up to fail — then blamed when they do.

We don’t need more awareness days. We need equity.

3/7 46% of PIP claims are denied.
Thousands die waiting for decisions.
The DWP spends millions fighting disabled people in court… while claiming to “support” us.

This isn’t a safety net. It’s a noose made of red tape.

Disabled people die up to 20 years earlier.
Not because of our conditions — but because we’re ignored, misdiagnosed, or denied care.

No interpreter. No step-free access. No belief.
Medical ableism isn’t rare — it’s the default.

Care shouldn’t kill us.

It honestly amazes me. I don't know if it's because I used to work in medicine or because I've always put myself in other people's shoes but it baffles me.
