2. SSA staff left the agency — through DRP & otherwise — under extreme duress.

Agency leadership repeatedly threatened mass layoffs or forced relocations — perhaps to faraway field offices — if not enough staff volunteered to resign or be reassigned.

1. This year, Social Security pushed out over 7K employees, the largest staffing cut in SSA history.

The DOGE-led, and questionably legal, government-wide DRP was just one part of that. There were also buyouts, early outs, and RIFs (layoffs).
