Luigi's Mansion 3:
This is the first entry in this series I've played, and I had a blast! I lowkey find the "playable animated movie" aesthetics and physics interactions more impressive than a lot of the high end graphics wankery you see in a lot of AAA gaming. Just a fun, tightly paced little game.

Silent Hill F (PS5):
This is easily the most interesting and well-written SH game in literally over 20 years. While I have some nitpicks with the gameplay/structure they simply don't matter that much to me because the finished game is so excellent. I did not expect a modern SH game to be this good.

Trails In the Sky 1st Chapter (PC):
I came into this with VERY high standards given how much I love the original, and you know what? This totally lived up to them. I think Falcom did a great job remaking Sky into something that stands up to recent releases without losing the spirit of the original.

Hades II (PC):
About ten hours into this I went "y know I am enjoying the play and the aesthetics and vibes of this way more than the previous game but I am not anywhere near as attached to the story" and you know what? That was dead on!

Star Wars: Tales Of The Jedi:
Genuinely gorgeous collection of shorts. I think the first and last Ahsoka ones are just OK but all three Dooku shorts are absolutely excellent and I love how the last one ties into the final arc of Clone Wars

Elden Ring: Nightreign (PC):
While I still have some quibbles about how FromSoft's design has shifted since DS1, and the final boss is fucking nuts, I had an absurd amount of fun running this night after night in a Discord call with my besties (though I would never run this solo or with randoms).

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (somewhat abridged):
Has a bit of a rough start but the highs of this are incredibly high, and it fills out a lot of stuff I really wanted filled out from the prequel era. The final 4-episode arc might genuinely be the best non-OT Star Wars film. Legit teared up at the end.

Knights Of The Old Republic 2 (PC w/ TSLRCM):
Incredible. Like all the best obsidian games it's kinda busted and obviously unfinished (even with mods) but good god the writing and ideas are so incredible that I don't care. Proof that the best Star Wars requires thinking outside the box sometimes.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (seasons 2-7, abridged):
It's easy to see why this became the beloved show it is, and there are many stone cold classic stories here, but man it is ROUGH for the first 2 1/2 seasons, and the lack of serialization or ongoing character dynamics really hurts it for me

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PC):

I'm not as in love with this as it seems a lot of people are (the ending didn't do it for me) but it's a VERY solid game that does a lot of cool things, has excellent art direction and music, and shows so much love for JRPGs as a whole. Mad respect.

Death Stranding 2:

idk man, I still really like the delivery part of the gameplay but I don't think the increased combat focus gels with Sam's lack of combat capability compared to Snake, and the story is really three separate stories mashed together and focuses on the worst one of the three

Earthbound (Switch 2 SNES):
Definitely aged in some aspects, plot-light, and maybe a bit too restrictive in difficulty, but it's not hard to see how this became so beloved and influential, it still feels wholly unique to its peers. The final stretch still absolutely whips 30 years later.

The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog (PC):

This is way higher effort and higher quality than any April Fools gag needs to be, they went so hard on this

Sonic The Hedgehog (IDW issues 1-78)

Why did it take this long for Sega to just let massive weebs write Sonic

Sega please put Surge in an actual sonic game please and thank you

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Switch 2):

I still have some issues with this game (I wish there was another way to get heart containers and I wish non-shrine sidequests had like anything worthwhile to give the player) but you know what? Playing this game in 4k60 feels reaaaaal nice.
