A movie I haven’t been recommending until recently (even though I think everyone should see it) is “Shoah” - Criterion has a blu-ray edition. If you haven’t seen/aren’t familiar with it you should look it up and decide if you’re up for it. (This is relevant to your discussion on the podcast.)

One example of (word) evolution based on laziness is “disinterested”, which until fairly recently meant impartial until everyone just assumed it was a synonym for uninterested (you want a disinterested 3rd party as a judge, not an uninterested one - at least, you used to).
