Some thoughts on GPT 5.

-The rollout for ChatGPT was incredibly mismanaged for such a high profile launch.

-ChatGPT doesn't seem significantly improved with GPT 5 vs older models

-HOWEVER, Github Copilot w/ GPT 5 is keeping pace w/ Sonnet 4 (outdoing it in some tasks). I'm genuinely impressed..

Coding w/ AI Tip: Instead of feeding all the documentation you want the AI to be aware of into context all at once, use a document index file that lists files the agent has access to, and a description of what's in each and how to use it. You'll save context space w/o losing info #ai #videcoding

I'm experimenting a bit w/ GPT 4.1 in Copilot today. I'm finding that if you ensure the instructions on generating code tell it to set up a todo list before actually doing anything, it can handle somewhat complex tasks by breaking them into small tasks and handling those. #copilot #ai #coding

For anyone struggling to find an alternative to @cursor.com.web.brid.gy after the recent pricing debacle, I can confirm that w/ VS Code, the $20 @anthropic.com Claude Code plan, and the @github.com $10 Copilot plan, I can work about the same way I was on the $20 cursor plan b4 the cursorpocalypse
