I've been working on a pattern, and here's a few pics of the pieces I've made so far with it. Some squishy little jellyfish! I'm hoping to put them up for sale soon, along with the pattern.

My hand holding up a crochet jellyfish I just made. It's about four inches tall and a little more wide, made from fuzzy chenille yarn with speckled white, dark blue, light blue, and light green. It has two black safety eyes, a round body, a frilled edge around, and some little tendrils at the base. A second jellyfish sitting on a cushion. This one is made from a similar chenille yarn, but it's a solid light blue color. The picture is taken from a higher angle so you can't see the tendrils. A stack of three crocheted jellyfish on my coffee table. They are all made from the speckled white/blue/green yarn, with the same safety eyes and put in a pyramid formation.

Y'all I'm so mad, I was THIS CLOSE to finishing my cross stitch and I ran out of black floss. And that was the last of the floss, I have to go out and buy more for like... two inches. I just wanted to be done 😭

I just recently visited the Ohio State Reformatory, where they filmed The Shawshank Redemption. Most of it isn't in very good condition anymore, but there are ongoing restoration efforts. I did a self-guided tour but I think next time I'll do the audio one.

During the tour, I learned that it was painted to look like wood but it's actually constructed from steel for fire safety reasons. There is a lot of natural light from the tall windows. The concrete floor is dirty, and there are five floors of cells on the right hand side which are all in view from the main walkway. All but the first floor of cells are caged in to prevent falls. Each cell is tiny, and they're all contracted from metal. There are several layers of peeling paint and a lot of rust all over the metal construction. In the far distance there are a few tourists visible. Photo of a solitary confinement cell, referred to as "the hole". The room is tiny - the entrance is barely wide enough to fit someone's shoulders, and low enough that most adults would have to stoop to enter. The walls are made from crumbling brick. A little further in is a tiny round room, maybe four feet wide at most, with a wooden stool in the middle. There is no light inside. The door is made from heavy iron, now rusted, and would probably leave someone in near total darkness once closed.

Every time Cait Corrain opens their mouth about the bullshit stunt they pulled on Goodreads I want to scream. This is such utter bullshit on so many levels.

"I woke up the next morning, I had this awful, like, dread in my stomach," she said. "And I couldn't tell anyone because I was absolutely convinced that if I told anyone about what had happened and the fact that I had done something that was so incredibly out of character for me, that I was going to be institutionalized." But she couldn't go back and delete the Goodreads profiles because that meant she would have had to confront the truth about not having autonomy over her actions.
