as much as i wish it so, i don't think an ossoff primary is viable for GA rn. ossoff and warnock won in the heat of the trump scandals and have been riding on incumbancy ever since. i think a primary could very well cause a seat flip (this is coming from a lifelong Georgian)

@nickandert.bsky.social thoughts on this? do their final recommendations stack up to what you mentioned in your video in june, besides the inter-gency coordination?

Cancel Culture is moreso a liberal thing than a true progressive thing tbh. Like think about the people who supported Hillary Cilton vs the people who support Zohran - which do you think are more likely to focus on identity politics rather than the one issue that unites us all, classism?

Those willing, by contrast, to trade away the rights and dignity of transgender people or the poor cannot be considered friends of democracy any more than those who were willing to countenance second-class status for blacks and Jews.
Anyway, it is true that democracy will be on the ballot in 2028. But it'll be on the ballot for Democrats well before the general. And the party's task is creating democracy, not defending it. That demands both an attentiveness to structural politics and a willingness to defend the equality of all.

it seems like at this point, it's probably best to push hard for cut&cover on phases 2 and 3, and not really push for phase 1, no?
as much as i'd like to see them all, i fear that pushing for phase 1 would make the whole idea seem less viable (esp with the possibly sooner timeframe)
