What Democrats are doing
@whatdemsaredoing.bsky.social
Keeping tabs on how Democrats are helping people, standing up to Republican nonsense and more!
TX Dems these past couple of weeks stopped a GOP attempt to rig the state's congressional races, fleeing to IL to deny the votes needed for it. IL Gov Pritzker protected them from arrest. This spurred CA and NY Dems to start redrawing their maps. Good. Dems, keep fighting.

Remember in April when Maryland US Sen. Chris Van Hollen won access to the El Salvador prison where Abrego-Garcia was illegally deported? Americans saw the truth and they did not like it. Trump’s approval rating on immigration dropped since then and has yet to recover. It’s his strongest issue.

Neat site from the Dems’ organization in charge of winning back the lower chamber of Congress.

Prices when Dems held majority in the House vs how it’s been under Republicans.

Republicans wanna shove government red tape between you and your Medicaid. Seems like a nice Dem message as Trump’s congressional suckups try to rip healthcare away from tens of millions of working taxpayers

Harris won more white support than Biden, Clinton and Obama 2012, but less support from people of color than those three, and got fewer votes overall than Trump.

Majority of whites voted for him but he needed those racial minorities to push him to 270 Electoral College votes.

About half of the poorest voters supported the candidate who opposed raising the federal minimum wage. Fact is, Trump promised “mass deportations” during his final weeks on the campaign trail and that’s what lots of voters supported.

ICYMI: the lower chamber of Congress passed this bill by @trahan.house.gov that bans high concentrations of a poison that some teens use to kill themselves

Are Republicans dumb enough to block this bill by CA congressman Mark Takano (yeah probably)

Hard for me to believe The New York Times found a representative sample of swing voters or moderates, but here are the Democrats they claim to like.

One of the biggest accounts on BlueSky, a self-described journalist, admits his mission is to bash Democrats. This comes after Dems went again to El Salvador to tackle Trump breaking US law by illegally shipping people to that third-world country’s slave prison.

Be wary!

You’re gonna see a lot of talk from people about how the youngest generation loves Trump and how all these protests on the news are just cranky old people.

That’s fine. Guess which of those two groups votes and which does not.

Hopeful news for Dems in a critical state. Hobbs up for reelection in 2026.
