Thanks, sometimes I come off combative but I want to have constructive conversations about what the city actually isn't doing right instead of bashing the few things it is rapidly improving on

Well obviously the attitudes and ambition around TOD were terrible which is why we ended up with the bad land use in the first place. Used to be that the city wanted to replace all P&R capacity at stations with parking structures which is prohibitively expensive and nothing ever penciled out

Again you said current development was worse, I showed you how currently we're putting connective grid road networks with far higher density and then you even complained about current stations built in 1970s-90s areas

Silverado and Belmont. You were the one who brought up how the current development is supposedly worse than in previous decades

City is planning the NE Blue extension to serve those areas, is it our fault AB and feds haven't stepped up to fund it? TOD takes time and it's contradictory to say that these things are terribly poor when CTrain manages to generate 100m trips a year while simultaneously having terrible land use

Plus bus traps etc were a bandaid solution to terrible road network planning. Nowadays we don't need them because neighborhoods are planned with gridded road networks from local to arterial

The Red Line south extension is surrounded by land zoned for high density mixed use as well, there won't be a single family home or surface lot in sight of either station. Just because we're not getting insane Van or TO 60 storey towers doesn't mean nothing is happening.

You obviously are because there are several TOD projects underway incl. one at Franklin planning to break ground next year with a development partner selected, and the newest NE communities are smashing feeder bus ridership performance literally into overload territory thanks to grids and density

How would you say the built form is worse than the 70s to 90s? Have you even seen the city or are you just saying things based on false pretences?

Have to start somewhere...

RouteAhead has a 10 year funding plan to double bus service hours and create a Primary Transit Network beyond the CTrain lines. Of course, this is up to Council to fund the plan but to say there is no talk at all is false.
